I am interested in becoming an MMA official and want to take your course. What do I need to do next?

How do I become a MMA Official?

The first step is to participate in our training course and pass the course.

Will passing this course guarantee me work?

No. Passing the course will give you the knowledge of becoming an MMA official, this is the first step in becoming an official.

What is included in the training course?

The course is designed to give you the knowledge of becoming an MMA official, it will cover subjects of MMA referee, Judge, and Inspectors, by the end of the training you will have a vast knowledge of the rules, scoring criteria, inspectors pre and post event duties, and Fighters safety.

If I pass the course, will this ensure I get a referee work in the next event?

NO! it does not mean that you will be given a work in an event after you pass the course, this is the first step, next you have to contact your local federation, and start working and helping in their event, and gradually you will be moved to officiating after getting the required experience.

Do I have to be an MMA fighter to be an official?

No, you don’t have to be a fighter to become a referee or judge, but you must have the knowledge of the sports, If you are not an active in some form of ground training (Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, wrestling), we strongly suggest that you MUST have basic MMA techniques, explaining how they work and what body part they affect. If you are unable to do this, extensive research on the internet, and/or videos should help.

Also, to the techniques, you should familiarize yourself with the Unified Rules listed on our site.

Do MMA Coaches, Trainers, and Media take these courses?

Yes, it is highly recommended that coaches or media have to learn how the unified MMA criteria is applied to fights, and then they gameplan around those findings with their fighters, or to cover the sport n the right way for the media.

What if I'm an MMA super FAN that wants to get involved?

MMA fans that are interested in the sport, you are welcome to participate with a goal of a participation certificate, The goal for you will be to learn and understand the ruleset and how to judge a fight.
